Change Password

The user can set their own password to login to the K2 system. The change can be done via Main menu - Administrator - Change password.

To change the password, there is a form in which you can enter the old and new password. Confirm it by OK button.

If the password should meet some specific conditions you can see in Main menu - Administrator - Users - right settings.

For each user, the password policy indicates whether the password is strong or weak. Strong password must be used to log in to the K2 system via the website.

The basic password policy data defines the conditions for setting. Here, you can limit the validity of the password, specify the minimum number of characters in the password, and prevent any of the last six passwords from being used.

In Administrator - Users - password settings you can see what password policy is set for individual users. You can mark records and make multiple password policy changes for multiple users at once. It is also said who has the access from the web.

If the user needs to reset the password, use the Create password option to generate a temporary password. A temporary password meets the conditions defined in the password policy (strong or weak). The first time the user logs in to the system under a temporary password, the user is asked to change it.

You can create a password via Basic data in selected user as well. The password must be at least 5 characters long. Empty password is not generated. Copy the temporary password via Ctrl+V. The copied password can be pasted into e-mail, note book,...

In the Basic Data of the User in the Users - password settings book, there are the same information as in the password policy, and in addition, you can see the password expiration message, the number of attempts remaining to enter the correct password, and the first wrong password.

If the user is set up to connect to domain account, see Link K2 to Windows login, this login will be cancelled by changing the password policy. Linking with domain account will be also cancelled, if we generate a new temporary password for the user.
